Instant Rewards for Seamless Travel Experiences by HSBC TravelOne Credit Card

HSBC Malaysia has revolutionized travel convenience with the exciting launch of their latest product, the HSBC TravelOne Credit Card. This remarkable offering allows customers to instantly redeem their travel rewards with a range of leading airlines and renowned hotel chains. In collaboration with Mastercard, the TravelOne Credit Card was designed with customer convenience as its primary focus.

In a grand launch event, Taylan Turan, HSBC’s group head of retail banking and strategy wealth and personal banking (WPB), highlighted three key elements that HSBC prioritized during the card’s development: customer choice flexibility, enticing incentives, and seamless accessibility.

“Our aim is to deliver precisely that by enabling our customers to redeem their reward points instantly via our user-friendly mobile banking app. They can convert their points into a wide selection of the world’s top airlines and hotels,” added Turan.

Turan emphasized that the HSBC TravelOne Credit Card is a pivotal component of HSBC’s strategy to enhance its unique cross-border international franchise, providing a multi-market travel card that caters to diverse travel needs.

He further explained that in the fourth quarter of 2022, Malaysian travelers increased their spending on overseas retail by an impressive 66% compared to the same period in 2019. With Malaysia being one of the bank’s key markets in South-East Asia, HSBC feels a profound responsibility to meet its customers’ expectations by delivering exceptional solutions, products, and propositions.

Renee Bullock-Cann, HSBC Malaysia’s head of wealth and personal banking, expressed the bank’s ambition to unlock a world of opportunities for its customers, considering that credit cards remain the preferred payment method for travel spending in Malaysia. Bullock-Cann stated, “With the HSBC TravelOne Credit Card, we aim to streamline the travel experience by offering our customers incredible deals in the most hassle-free and convenient manner.”

Beena Pothen, Mastercard country manager for Malaysia and Brunei, echoed these sentiments, noting that the launch of the HSBC TravelOne Credit Card coincides perfectly with the resurgence of travel following a lengthy hiatus. Pothen highlighted the card’s exceptional travel benefits and exclusive privileges, which have arrived at the ideal moment.

“The HSBC TravelOne Credit Card provides Malaysian cardholders with frictionless and secure travel experiences worldwide or closer to home through our mobile app, ensuring secure transactions anytime, anywhere,” Pothen added.

The HSBC TravelOne Credit Card boasts an array of exceptional features. Cardholders can instantly convert their reward points into valuable perks with top airlines and hotels. Furthermore, customers are entitled to six complimentary airport lounge access passes per year and enjoy comprehensive travel insurance coverage up to US$250,000 (RM1.12mil).

To cater to different needs, the credit card offers flexible installment plans, ensuring a seamless payment experience for its users. Additionally, the card features a unique notch design, serving as a tactile guide for customers with visual impairments, reaffirming HSBC’s commitment to inclusivity.

As an extra incentive, HSBC rewards customers who activate a new card and perform 10 swipes and 10 e-Wallet top-ups within the welcome period (May 16 to Aug 31) with an exciting welcome gift.
