Google Malaysia Sdn Bhd (Google Malaysia) is going to run its Google Certification Programme (GCP) challenge from Nov 26 to Dec 23, aims to help local e-marketers improve their theory and practical application of Google Adwords. As part of the challenge, Google Malaysia will reward the top 3 GCP candidates who pass both the Google Advertising Fundamentals and Search Advertising Advanced during contest period with either a Samsung Galaxy Note 2 or a Samsung Galaxy S3.
GCP is a globally recognized stamp of approval certifying essential AdWords knowledge and the participants will receive a certificate verifying them as GCP Qualified Individual after they pass the required exams.
According to Deon Moh, small medium business marketing manager at Google Malaysia, only 3 to 4 per cent of the 100,000 small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs) who do business using a website are actively using AdWords. Moh commented that online advertising is new in many countries and Google realize there is a need to build the ecosystem and there will be a lot efforts required to do it.
Google Adwords is an online advertising platform developed by Google, to assist businesses in marketing their products or services in the Google Search Engine, and its affiliate sites, via the use of a placed text ad that appears when people search for phrases related to your offering, this appears as a “sponsored link”.
