KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia public listed company, Digistar now also in online group buying business and to compete with Groupon Malaysia, Living Social Malaysia and MyDeal via its group buying website www.jvbuyer.com.my.
According to Digistar Executive Director Ong Fee Chong, the company spent six months to prepare the website and the result was not good in the first three month after launching. Due to effort contributed by the team, they manage to increase the sales of the site and made their facebook fan page with more 90,000 ‘likes’, just ranked behind Groupon Malaysia (>160,000 likes) and MyDeal (>120,000 likes), he added.
“Unlike other competitors, jvBuyer only list the products they purchased from their suppliers. The buyers can consult jvBuyer directly on the products and thus can reduce the conflict between the buyers and the merchants,” Ong said.
