BSN Aims 1 Million Visa Debit Cardholders in 2014

Dec 11, 2013 (Wed): Bank Simpanan Nasional (BSN) recently has launched BSN Visa debit card, the first ever multi-privileged Visa Debit featuring Visa payWave functionality in Malaysia, in a bid to help curb rising credit card debts in the country, Malaysian Digest reports. The card is linked to a BSN savings account as well as equipped with MEPS, Touch N Go, Plusmiles and BCARD loyalty programme.

With Visa payWave function, cardholders just shop, wave and go (without signature required) for everyday purchases under RM150 at participating merchant outlets with the Visa payWave reader.

The report said that BSN is targeting one million Visa debit cardholders for the year 2014, an increase of 25 percent which will bring its number of cardholders to almost five million. The bank also will target to convert its 500,00 Visa Electron Matrix cardholders to the new BSN Visa debit cardholders.
